Our Fabrics

Los Angeles in the early nineties...beach volleyball, elevated casual dining, and just the right amount of saxophone. Our denim factory was just opening its doors. Thirty-something years later, they're now a premium destination for sewing and washing classic American jeans. Denim is more art than science, and by working so closely with a factory just down the 405, we can ensure that every detail, trim, and eighth-of-an-inch is executed with precision.

Like perfectly aged wine or a slow-simmering sauce, we partner with our Italian mills not for speed but for work long steeped in tradition. A mix of heritage and innovation, our partner mills include a second-generation family mill and a one committed to sustainability through technology. It may not be the fastest way to do it, but all that time and care results in some of the most robust and dimensional fabrics.

We will go anywhere in the world to find the best textiles, but it doesn’t hurt when it involves a trip to the coast. Like the mezze spread of our dreams, we work with mills and factories in Portugal, Italy, and Turkey, bringing each company’s specialty product to our designers to create something singular.

Everyone on staff loves that we use this silk, except for our accountant. Compact,  expensive, and heavyweight, it’s so indulgent that it’s almost naughty. But even in the midst of our high-glamour Dallas fantasies, we can’t help but be practical, so it’s also moisture-wicking, temperature-regulating, and more resistant to snagging than most others. And like the unflappable divas of prime-time soaps, it travels well and lasts forever. 

Our selvedge denim hails from Louisiana, made in the last American denim mill on looms older than most colleges. It makes its way to our factory in Los Angeles, which has been refining its process since the ‘90s. It might meet up with a belt made in Pennsylvania. When we say we search the world for the best materials, that includes our backyard.   

Imagine walking into a postcard of the Irish countryside: rolling green hills dappled with charming cottages and farms. Horses and sheep grazing in the mist. Magical, right? THAT’S WHERE OUR LINEN IS MADE. It’s milled at a family-run business in the picturesque county of Antrim in Northern Ireland. This heritage mill runs on 100% renewable electricity and minimizes chemical waste. Third-generation tradition meets next-generation innovation. Like a pint and chips, it’s the best of both worlds.
